Bahia Village Residents Learn About Emergency Preparedness

On 7/31/2019, Community Services Officer, Kris Backouris, of the Garden Grove Police Department visited Bahia Village to speak about emergency preparedness to 12 of our residents. Residents were able to have open and informative conversations with Officer Backouris, speaking about their own experiences with disasters and learning how to prepare for disasters such as earthquakes, fires, and floods.

Officer Backouris also taught residents the importance of preparing now by starting an emergency bag for themselves and/or family. To help residents get started, Officer Backouris provided educational material, emergency forms, and even coupons to a local store for free flashlights and discounted emergency bag items. We also distributed water-proof document bags, emergency bag checklists, and mini first aid kits provided by ReadyOC.
