Latest news and resources from Caritas regarding our COVID-19 response

Caritas recognizes that you may be facing health and economic hardships due to the significant impact of the COVID-19, and we want to provide the necessary support for those who need it. If you have suffered a job loss or other substantial loss of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic and are unable to pay rent, we encourage you we encourage you to notify us as soon as possible or fill out a Rent Deferral Request Form.
To fill out a Rent Deferral Request Form, click the link below. Save this form to your computer, fill it out, and email the completed form to your community office. To find your community contact information, click here.
Please be aware that if you do not contact us to let us know that you have been affected by COVID-19 financially, we will not know that you may need assistance during these unprecedented times. If you have been laid off from your job, you should file for unemployment insurance as soon possible.
If you are not currently facing a COVID-19 related hardship, rent is due as normal. Remember that you also have the option to pay rent online using RentTrack, and you can call or email your office to enroll.

If you’re an income eligible renter who has experienced a financial hardship due to COVID-19 and have past due rent, you may be eligible to get financial assistance now through this program. To check eligibility requirements, apply or find a Local Partner Network organization who can assist you further at the website or number above.
Fresno County Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) website; (559) 515-4700
The County of Fresno received money from the US Treasury Department and the State Block Grant for this program. The funds will be used for direct financial assistance to eligible renter households in the County’s jurisdiction that have been impacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

United Lift is a rental assistance program for residents in Riverside County that is administered by the non-profits Inland SoCal United Way and Lift To Rise.
San Bernardino County Rent Relief Partnership website; 2-1-1
San Bernardino County has established the San Bernardino County Rent Relief Partnership, an emergency rental assistance program that will leverage more than $46.8 million in U.S. Treasury funds to provide rental assistance to county residents impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
San Diego County COVID-19 Emergency Rental and Utilities Assistance Program website
The County’s 2021 Emergency Rental and Utilities Assistance Program (ERAP) helps eligible households in qualifying areas who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program provides payment assistance for renters who need help with rent and utilities. Applications will be accepted until funds are no longer available.
San Marcos COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program website
San Marcos renters who have experienced financial setbacks due to COVID-19 may be eligible for the City’s new COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program. The program will provide immediate financial aid to residents experiencing a loss of income directly related to COVID-19.

The Solano County Emergency Rental Assistance Program provides help paying rent & utilities for income eligible renters living in Solano County who experienced financial hardship due to COVID19.
Sonoma County COVID-19 Rental Assistance website
The County of Sonoma Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) helps eligible households who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program provides payment assistance for renters. Any community member can apply for assistance regardless of immigration status. Funds can be used to pay rent as well as past-due utility bills and home service bills.

Supporting Tenants Accessing Rental Relief (STARR) website
The Supporting Tenants Accessing Rental Relief (STARR) program helps keep households in stable housing situations when facing eviction and other housing emergencies. The program is funded by OHCS and is provided through local Community Action Agencies in your community. To find your local CAA and for more information go to the website above.
